One rule list, not a pile of switches
A rule says what to match and where to send it. They run top to bottom and the first match wins — so the order is the logic.
Match what you mean
Match on the sender, on words in the message, or on which SIM it arrived on. Nothing is inspected beyond the words you choose yourself.
Route it precisely
Send a match to SMS, to Telegram, to both, or drop it entirely. Pick exactly which of your verified devices receive it.
Write the message yourself
Templates let you choose how a synced message reads, with placeholders for the sender, the text, the date, the time and the SIM. Shorter templates cost less when syncing over SMS.
Nothing lost to a dead signal
If Telegram cannot be reached, the message is queued and retried automatically as soon as the connection is back, with backoff between attempts. You can see what is waiting and why.

Grant permissions

Where your messages actually go

No account, no server of ours — but Telegram is still Telegram
TextBridge has no sign-up and no backend. Your settings and your sync history are stored only on your phone, and we never receive them.
If you enable Telegram syncing, the content of your messages is sent to Telegram's servers through the bot you created. That is how the feature works, and it means Telegram's own privacy policy applies to anything synced there. Leave Telegram off and nothing leaves your device except the SMS copies your carrier sends to the numbers you picked.
Advanced Mode changes none of that. Matching a sender or a keyword and advert, deciding which rule applies and rendering a template all happen on your phone, and your rules never leave it. Syncing history is kept for 30 days and older entries are deleted automatically.

Does it keep working when the app is closed?
Yes. Incoming messages are handled by native Android components, not by the app's interface, so syncing continues when the app is in the background, swiped out of recents, or after the phone restarts. The one exception is Force Stop — if you force stop the app from Android settings, the system stops delivering messages to it until you open it again.
Do I need a Telegram bot? How do I get one?
Only if you want Telegram syncing. Message @BotFather on Telegram, create a bot, and it gives you a token. Open your new bot and press Start, then message @userinfobot to get your own chat ID — a plain number, no minus sign. Paste both into TextBridge and enter the code it sends you. Group chats are not accepted: TextBridge syncs your messages to you, not to other people.
What is the difference between Simple and Advanced Mode?
Simple Mode syncs every incoming message to every destination you set up — there is nothing to configure. Advanced Mode adds a rule list, message templates, a retry queue for failed Telegram sends, and delivery statistics. Both share the same devices, Telegram chats and SIM settings, so switching does not mean setting anything up twice.
Can I switch modes later? Do I lose my setup?
You can switch whenever you like, from Settings, and nothing is lost. Your devices, Telegram chats, SIM settings and history belong to the app as a whole and are never touched by switching. Going back to Simple Mode pauses your rules rather than deleting them — switch to Advanced again and they are exactly as you left them. If you ever do want a clean slate, the switch offers that explicitly and tells you what it will clear.
Does TextBridge read what my messages say?
Only to copy them, and only against words you choose yourself. A rule matches on the sender, on a keyword you type in, or on which SIM a message arrived on — nothing else. TextBridge does not work out what a message is: there is no category for bank alerts, payments, adverts or verification codes, and no rule can single one out.
Whole messages are copied across exactly as they arrived, so a code travels inside the body like any other text. If you want to see what your setup would do before relying on it, the app has a tester: paste in one of your own messages and it shows you which rule catches it and where it would go, without sending anything.
What happens if Telegram is unreachable?
In Advanced Mode you can switch on a retry queue. A message that fails because of a dropped connection is queued and retried automatically once the phone is back online, with increasing gaps between attempts. Configuration problems — a wrong bot token, for instance — are not retried, because they would fail identically every time; those are reported in your history instead.
Does syncing by SMS cost money?
Yes. Each synced message is a real SMS sent from your SIM, charged at your carrier's normal rate. Long messages are split into multiple parts and billed accordingly. Telegram syncing uses data instead and costs nothing extra.
Why do I have to verify a device?
Because otherwise the app would just be sending your texts wherever you typed. TextBridge sends the device a 6-digit code, and it receives nothing until you read that code on the device itself and type it back. A phone you cannot pick up cannot be added.
It costs one SMS at your carrier's normal rate, once per device. Verifying a Telegram chat is free. If you remove a device and add it again later, it asks for a fresh code.
Can I sync from only one SIM?
Yes. On a dual-SIM phone you can switch off syncing for either SIM, and separately choose which SIM sends the outgoing copies — the same SIM the message arrived on, a fixed one, or the phone's default.
What if I add this phone's own number as a device?
Nothing bad happens. TextBridge recognises its own synced messages and will not sync them again, so you can't end up in a loop that burns through your SMS balance. That protection holds even if you write a custom template that looks nothing like the standard layout.
Can I install it on someone else's phone?
No — and please don't. TextBridge is built for syncing your own messages from your own phone. Installing it on a phone belonging to someone else to read their texts without their knowledge is a serious invasion of privacy, is illegal in many countries, and is not a use we support. While syncing is switched on, the app shows a permanent notification on the device so whoever is holding the phone can always see it is running.
Is there an iPhone version?
No. iOS does not let apps read incoming SMS at all, so this kind of app is only possible on Android.
